Wade Associates, Inc. conducts training seminars in process control for engineering, instrumentation technicians and operational personnel.  Typical courses are:

For Engineers:  Basic and Advanced Regulatory Control Strategies.   This practical level course covers the principles and tuning of feedback (PID) control as well as the benefits, selection, design and implementation of advanced regulatory control such as ratio, cascade, feedforward, decoupling and model based control.  Engineers or others who are responsible for design, configuration, analysis, tuning and start-up of process control loops will benefit from this course.  Typically 3 - 5 days.

A unique feature of this course is the extensive use of a PC, running a control loop simulation program (PC-ControLAB) to provide a realistic demonstration of each of the topics presented.

For Instrumentation Technicians and Operators: Fundamentals of Controller Tuning.  This course, which is approximately 1/3 lecture, 2/3 practice, covers classical methods of controller tuning, but gives primary emphasis on ways developed by Wade Associates for rapidly improving the tuning of existing loops. Covers feedback and cascade loops for standard applications such as temperature, pressure, flow and level. Emphasis is also given to other factors besides controller tuning which may be the cause of poor control loop behavior. Makes use of in-class PC's running a control loop simulation program (PC-ControLAB) to provide realistic practice of the tuning techniques presented.  Typically 1 1/2  -  2 days.
